The nationwide law firm of Bernstein Liebhard LLP is now investigating potential Invokana lawsuits on behalf of individuals who were hospitalized due to ketoacidosis (diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), ketosis or acidosis) while using this or any other Type 2 diabetes medication known as sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors. Since May 2013, numerous patients who were prescribed these medications have reportedly sought emergency medical treatment or been hospitalized with this dangerous condition. The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) is now reviewing the safety of all SGLT2 inhbitors to determine if the risk of ketoacidosis should be noted on the drugs’ labels.
